- Hoses
- Washers/Gaskets
- Strainer Nuts
- Cartridges
- Timers
- Miscellaneous Parts
If you purchase a complete Intex pool set, your pump comes with it. Included with the pump are all the parts you will need to start using the pump as soon as the pool is filled, especially the hoses. There are two hoses. One sucks the dirty water into the filter and the other puts the clean water back into the pool. Over time, or by accident, the hoses can crack or break. You will need to replace them to ensure your pump continues to function properly.
Washers/Gaskets
Intex pool pumps have a wide variety of rubber washers that are used. Their primary function is to seal areas that join. For example, hose adapters will have rubber gaskets. The lid for the cartridge compartment will also have gaskets when they are damaged, water leaks out.
Strainer Nuts
Strainer nuts are only used on certain models. Like many other Intex pumps, models might look the same but actually require different parts. The strainer nut is used for the 633 and 635 models to hold the strainer hose in place.
Cartridges
All Intex pool pumps use cartridges. These are removable filters that capture dirt from the water that is pushed through. Always check which cartridge your pump uses. Most commonly used are A, B, or SF-3.
While replacement cartridges are a necessary part of maintaining your pump, there are ways to get the most from your pump and your cartridges. You should replace the cartridge when you notice that it is not working effectively to clean the water, but in the meantime, you can prolong the life of each one and lengthen the amount of time between cartridge replacements. Simply rinse your cartridge every day with a garden hose; this helps to clean the filter from dirt and debris that can reduce the ability of the cartridge to filter the water.
Timers
Many Intex pool pumps can be used along with a timer. Some of the larger capacity pumps come with timers. A pool pump timer can prove to be very useful. There is no need for your pump to be running non-stop. It can cause your pump to wear out faster and increase your electric bill. A timer eliminates the need to repeatedly plug in and unplug your pump. The pump will turn on and off at times you set.
Miscellaneous Parts
It is not uncommon to need other replacement parts that are not of the ordinary variety, but Intex has you covered. For those odd parts, there are many different ones available that will be specific to each model. For example, if you find that your cartridge cover is cracked or the threading is damaged, you can get a replacement cover. If you have a model that does not have the hose ports made into the casing as one unit, you may find that you need to replace one of these ports. There are also parts that affect the suction and flow of the water, which can also be purchased.
When it comes to Intex pool pumps, you have a broad range of options. There are several models available because different pools have different measurements and hold different amounts of water. There are two reasons why you would need to purchase an Intex pump. You could need a replacement for the pump that came with your pool.
